This double shaker table was comissioned by a client who had an extra long dining space and needed to seat 16 round a table along with the ability to spilt the table in two for events. With that the design became of two tables, following an early Shaker design of two legs supporting each top with arms from the central stand.

The benefit of having two legs centrally rather than four in each corner is that chairs can be tucked under at any point therefore allowing for more seats around the table.

The table was made from storm fallen oak no more than 30 miles from the workshop, milled and dried the top is book matched to give a linear reflection in the grain down the table length.
